The Art History Network: http://www.arthistory.net/
A great resource for art history, archeology, and architecture information.
They’ve got links to several dozen maganizines's websites, a few
free image sites, several organizations, employment resources, and a few
email/forum/chat discussion groups. The site would probably be overwhelming
to young kids, but would be helpful to high school kids doing research,
or teachers and parents looking for resources.
Magic Pencil - Children's Book Illustration: http://portico.bl.uk/whatson/exhibitions/magicpencil/home.html
An exhibit from the British Library. The site describes itself as, "Magic
Pencil Childrens Book Illustration Today is a display of
more than 300 paintings and drawings for children by Britains starriest
illustrators. It examines how and why they work. It also shows that the
strong tradition of British children's book illustration is actively flourishing
in the 21st century." Overall the site is well designed and really
neat.
