The Deighton Family Transcript
Brief Sound Clip:
The Deightons were the darlings of the accoustic folk rock busking world during the 1980s and 90s, offering an eclectic mix of old timey and contemporary music, played by the Deighton parents, as well as all of their four children, including Angelina, who was six years of age when their first CD was released in the states in 1988. No wonder they have been called “the Carter Family for the Global Village” — especially when they’re doing a favorite like “The Tennesee Wig Walk.”
Brief Sound Clip:
You’ll find Carl Perkins’ “Blue Suede Shoes” next to a traditional Yorkshire tune. Guitar, mandolin, penny-whistle, flute, fiddle, melodium, they’re all here in a gladdening gumbo of sounds that will take you and yours on your way back to the future, and home again — always home again, past “The Little Field of Barley.”
