Brian Taves (PhD, University of Southern California) is a film archivist with the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. He is senior author of The Jules Verne Encyclopedia (Scarecrow, 1996) and has published numerous articles on Verne and early 20th century cinema. He is currently working on a book on the more than 300 film and television adaptations of Verne made around the world, and is expanding his research on the author’s son, novelist and filmmaker Michel Verne, at the request of the Verne family.
