Keb Mo’s Big Wide Grin Transcript

Brief sound clip

That’s Keb Mo with the opening track “Everybody Be Yoself” from his new CD for children and families called “Big Wide Grin.” It’s a virtuoso turn for this multi-talented, Grammy-winning performer, and hes chosen some terrific numbers to cover, like Stevie Wonder s sweet song about a newborn baby, Isn’t She Lovely, and that tongue-twisting swing classic, Flat Foot Floogie, that will put you on your feet and start you dancing. Color Him Father, a ballad for a hard-working dad sung by his young son, will bring tears to your eyes, and Keb’s Mississippi Delta version of America the Beautiful will send chills up and down your spine.

All the tracks of this recording takes you to important places and people — Love Train, with its Zulu chorus, is an anthem for international understanding; and Grandma s Hands is an ode to a life lived with selfless purpose, and compassion.

You’ll want to put this recording on for your children, but you’ll be listening to it, too, every time you want go somewhere good. Here s Keb Mo again, harmonizing with Perla Batalla, to take us home in a Big Yellow Taxi.
