That’s the title song for “Little Happy Campers, The Girl Scouts Greatest Hits,” volume 6, from Melinda Carroll and Legend Productions in Hawaii. Who would have thought that there could be six volumes of songs, and more on the way, for Daisies, Brownies, and Girl Scouts to harmonize together on. But when you think about it, many of these songs have become standards of childhood — especially if a kid has spent any time camping in Girl Scouts or other organizations. That’s where you learn songs like “The Ants Go Marching” and “Kum Bay Yah.” But there are other songs that belong to Girl Scouting in particular, like “Make New Friends,” “The Brownie Smile Song,” and that tribute to one of the basic food groups of Scouting: “S’mores”:

These are Scouting songs for the 21st Century: the golden oldies and newies have been tweaked and revved up — and given new backgrounds of R & B, Rock, Funk, and Country. So, light the campfire and crank up the drum machine for the new Girl Scouts:
