Daydreams and Lullabies Transcript

Brief Sound Clip:

That’s a segment of Beethoven’s “8th Symphony,” from a CD called Daydreams and Lullabies, a Celebration of Poetry, Song and Classical Music. This inventive collection brings together a number of modern and traditional poems for children, setting them within the soundscapes of familiar melodies. Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Air in G” becomes the liquid sound on which the boat of three well-known fishermen floats.

And, after a “Rock-a-bye Baby” from Tchaikovsky, a “Sandman” song from Brahms, and Hansel and Gretel’s moving “Prayer” from Humperdinck what could be better than William Blake and Hayden to close the day?
